For the week of 3/18/18

Dear 5-8^th Boys Lacrosse Families,

Congrats to all of our players who attended evaluations today, we saw some great competition and were very happy with everyone’s effort! We had 3 coaches and 5 independent evaluators attend each session and we were able to get a very thorough look at our players to build an outline for our roster placements. As mentioned, evaluators looked at stick skills, athleticism, lacrosse IQ, attitude, enthusiasm and effort in our rankings, providing us a solid framework to determine the final roster placements.

As we build off of this outline and come to final decisions, we have opportunities for every grade to get practices in this week, and think that if we have the attendance of the majority of our players, that our coaching staffs will be able to make final evaluation decisions, allowing us to cancel the planned Session #2 for this coming Sunday (3/25) and finalize our roster decisions with conviction. By doing so, we can have rosters completed and announced by Friday night and commence normal practice schedules starting the week of 3/26 (weather permitting).

We sincerely hope that all players can attend the assigned practices below, so we can move forward with team placements, begin our normal team practice schedules and begin to get prepared for our spring season. Unfortunately Mother Nature has put us in this position and we are doing our best for our players and coaches to get this season started.

As mentioned previously, lacrosse is a spring sport and playing travel means that your son will prioritize Wilton lacrosse over other sports. Had the weather cooperated, this coming week would likely have been a normal practice for our teams so we anticipate minimal conflicts. By this late date, we assume all winter sport seasons are completed, and travel lacrosse players are fully committed to attending the schedules we set forth, to the best of their ability.

While we understand this is very last minute, we hope all players/parents understand the issues put to us by the weather and can be as accomodating as possile to make this work.

6^th Grade:

This week: Practice on Tuesday and Wednesday at SoNo Fieldhouse, from 4:30-6p.
